Laser Hair Removal Treatments and Results
Pre Treatment Instructions
No Accutane use for 6 months prior to treatment.
Do not tan the areas being treated for 3 weeks prior to treatment.
Do not use self-tanning products or spray tan for 3 weeks prior to treatment.
Do not wax, pluck or have electrolysis 4 weeks prior to treatment.
Stop all Retin-A, Retinol, Renova, glycolics, bleaching creams and exfoliants 3 to 4 days prior to treatment in the area being treateed.
Before every treatment shave the area being treated closely within 24 hours of your appointment. If you are unable to shave the area yourself, please let us know when making your appointment so we can schedule your time accordingly.
Do not wear deodorant or makeup on area to be treated.
If you choose to purchase our topical anesthetic, you must advise us at the time you schedule your appointment and arrive 20 minutes prior to your treatment time. All topical anesthetic is an additional charge that must be paid at the time of your appointment.
Aftercare Instructions
You may have redness, swelling, itching and/or burning sensations for a few minutes up to 48 hours. You may apply aloe vera, hydrocortisone cream 1%, cold compresses or antibiotic cram if needed.
Avoid direct sunlight. Wear sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.
Do not apply makeup to the treated area until all the redness has subsided.
Avoid soaking for 24 to 48 hours. No hot tubs, whirlpools or baths, but showers are okay.
Avoid excessive sweating for 24 to 48 hours. No saunas or vigorous working out.
Avoid irritants, such Retin-A, Retinol, glycolics, bleaching creams and exfoliants for one week.
Do not wax or pluck any hairs between treatment sessions. Shaving and trimming is okay.
Do not manipulate the skin on the treated areas. If crusting or scabbing develops, allow it to fall off on its own so not to damage the skin beneath.
After the treatment (4-6 weeks) some hair may seem to be re-growing. This is usually the elimination of the hair that remained under the skin and is not true re-growth. You may exfoliate with a loofah sponge in the shower or with a soft washcloth or towel when you get out of the shower as long as your skin is not sore or irritated.
Follow-up treatments
On average, most people will need 4 to 6 treatments spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart.
Avoid any tanning in between treatments. This increases your risk for burning during your treatment.
Our Esthetician will discuss the treatment with you and go over concerns for a treatment plan. The area of your skin that is to be treated will be scanned with laser light. Treatment time will depend on the size of the area to be treated. The continuous cooling feature will ensure your comfort and safety during treatment. Since the sensation varies from individual to individual, a topical anesthetic can be provided for an additional cost. Let our esthetician know if you are very sensitive as we will need to have you arrive 15 minutes early to your appointment for appropriate numbing preparation..
The number of treatments needed will vary from patient to patient and our laser esetician will personalize a treatment plan based on the level of improvement you desire. The esthetician may also combine your treatment with other popular aesthetic procedures to further personalize your treatment.

Many people struggle with unwanted hair. It can be uncomfortable and perhaps even a source of embarrassment. Whether you shave, pluck, wax or use depilatory creams, your unwanted hair inevitably returns. Removal attempts may leave you with bumps, ingrown hairs and rashes. Laser Hair Removal with the Sciton Laser, uses state-of-the-art, laser technology to remove unwanted hair. The laser targets the pigment within the hair follicle, disabling it and interrupting its ability to grow.
Laser Hair Removal uses a laser to selectively target your hair follicles and heats them with laser energy. Unlike other treatments, the laser beam treats many hairs at once, making treatment of large areas practical. Our Sciton Laser utilizes a unique computer-guided scanning system that automates the treatment, ensuring your skin is rapidly and evenly treated. The computer places the beam in an optimum pattern for your skin to experience a safe, effective and gentle treatment.
Laser energy delivered by our Laser Hair Removal system can be used to remove all types of hair. When “shaving bumps” cover follicles, the laser energy can still penetrate to the hair follicle for a safe and effective treatment.
Laser Hair Removal offers longer-lasting results than shaving, plucking, waxing, depilatory creams or even electrolysis.
