Dramatic Results
Many factors contribute to the aging of our skin including sun, wind, cold, smoking, alcohol and a poor diet. This aging process means slowed collagen and elastin production, slowed exfoliation, decreased cellular regeneration, loss of underlying fat, and thinning and sagging skin. The result is unwanted wrinkles, fine lines, and age spots.

Dramatic Results – Minimal Downtime
ProFractional laser skin resurfacing works by penetrating the skin in thousands of microscopic channels, each surrounded by healthy, untouched skin. The alternating pattern of treated and untreated channels promotes faster healing and reduces downtime. The treated areas trigger the skin’s natural healing mechanism to generate new cells and promote collagen growth. The result is beautiful, young-looking skin.
Treatments are tailored to your specific aesthetic needs and goals. Wayzata Cosmetic Surgery & Spa’s highly experienced team can provide laser skin surfaces ranging from superficial treatments targeting surface imperfections, to a deeper more intensive procedures to erase deep wrinkles and pigmented lesions.
Our laser skin resurfacing is ideal for patients who want terrific results with minimal downtime. Most clients need only a day or two of downtime after treatment. Many people see immediate results after their procedure. However, the greatest results will appear within 4 to 6 months as you produce new collagen and your skin becomes firmer and more resilient.

Frequently Asked Questions About Laser Skin Resurfacing
What areas of the body can be treated?
Most skin areas can be treated. The most frequent treatment areas at Wayzata Cosmetic Surgery & Spa are the face and neck, though many people also treat the chest and hands.
How long does it take?
Treatment times range anywhere from 15-30 minutes depending on the depth of treatment needed.
Does laser skin resurfacing hurt?
To lessen any discomfort, your provider will apply a topical anesthetic to your skin prior to treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
Our patients see results from a single treatment. However, depending on your needs we may recommend a package of 2 to 4 treatments. Treatments may also be combined with other procedures for more dramatic results.
What will happen during the procedure?
Your skin will be cleaned and your eyes will be protected with safety shields. A laser hand piece will be positioned gently on the skin. When the laser energy is applied, you will hear a rapid succession of snapping sounds. The hand piece will be moved around to adjacent locations until the entire treatment area has been covered. The procedure normally takes 15 to 30 minutes.

The treatment removes a thin layer of damaged skin to improve texture and provide a more youthful appearance. Removing the dead layer of skin gives cells the opportunity to heal and regrow, which increases collagen, rids imperfections, and helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
Results can be seen right away, however, it does take between 2-4 days for signs of redness to go away. MicroLaser Peels are sometimes called the “weekend treatment”. Schedule your treatment at the end of the week and go back to work on Monday with refreshed, rejuvenated skin!
